A problem from my daily work became a Mac app.

Context

A personal project, outside any brief, born from a recurring situation in my own work. I wanted to solve it and take the solution to a public macOS version.

Problem

AI agents, builds and downloads can take time. When the Mac goes to sleep from inactivity before they finish, the work is interrupted halfway.

My role

From problem to release: I defined the scope, designed the experience, built the native app and published the code and releases.

Decisions

One thing only, without excess controls: keep the Mac awake for as long as needed. One switch, automatic shut-off and a visible state. AI supported the build, but it didn't define the product.

In the product

It's off by default and can be turned on for 30 minutes, 1 hour or until you turn it off. It only blocks idle sleep: screen, lock and manual sleep work as usual. No account, telemetry or cookies.

Release

Available for macOS 14 or newer, on Apple Silicon and Intel Macs. The code is open, and releases can be accessed on GitHub or via Homebrew.
